ČSÚ: minimum living wage for Prague single parent is 38,000 crowns

A single parent with one child needs to gross 32,438 crowns a month to live decently, according to Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) estimates. The salary should cover basic daily needs (food, housing, clothing, transport, health care), but also allow for leisure activities and savings.

In Prague, this minimum amount is estimated at nearly 38,000 crowns due to a higher cost of living. According to the ČSÚ, the average gross monthly salary in the Czech Republic was 34,611 crowns for the first three quarters of 2020.
