Cross-border picnic in Domažlice attracts hundreds of Czechs and Germans

Close to 400 Czechs and Germans attended a cross-border “picnic” in the town of Domažlice on Saturday afternoon, bringing Czech and German specialties to a hundred-meter long row of tables set out on the town’s main square. The event, organized by the Ackermann-Gemeinde association, is aimed at fostering good-neighbour cross-border relations and the organizers said they were delighted with the turnout. The participants heard greetings from the local mayor Stanislav Antoš, President Petr Pavel, Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák and local priest Miroslaw Grieg.
