Covid situation means Škoda Auto lacking up to a quarter of staff

Carmaker Škoda Auto is at present producing at only 75 or 80 percent of capacity because of the Covid pandemic, Škoda board member Michael Oeljeklaus told journalists on Tuesday. He said the company was lacking around 800 workers a day.

Roughly 70 percent of Škoda Auto’s staff are vaccinated against the coronavirus.

As well as a lack of staff the company is currently struggling to source semiconductors.
