Covid restrictions to be further eased from August 1
The government has agreed to further ease coronavirus restrictions in the country in view of the improving epidemiological situation.
From Sunday, August 1, the ceiling on outdoor sports and cultural events will be raised to 7,000 and while 3,000 people will be allowed at indoor events on condition they produce a negative coronavirus test, certificate of vaccination or post-Covid immunity.
Organizers of mass events should ensure that they only sell tickets to individuals who fulfill the requirements, Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch said hours after the initial announcement.
From the beginning of August, dancing will once again be allowed at dance clubs and discos. Swimming pools will be able to operate at full capacity, galleries and exhibitions at 75 percent capacity.
The Health Ministry said on Monday that the Delta variant is now dominant in the Czech Republic, accounting for 80 to 90 percent of infections.
