Covid numbers declining

The Czech Republic registered 1,532 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, which is 685 less than on the same day a week ago. The number of people hospitalized with Covid has dropped to 1,819. The reproduction number remains at 0.8.

This week the country crossed a long anticipated mark, with the number of newly infected per week falling below 100 per 100,000 inhabitants, which was the main criterion for shops and services to be allowed to reopen. The average number of newly infected is now at 94.7 per 100,000 inhabitants.
