Covid infection rate continues to accelerate

The Covid-19 infection rate in Czechia continues to accelerate. According to the Ministry of Health data, some 2,110 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the country on Thursday, which is about a third more than on the same day a week ago.

Over the last seven days, laboratories have detected nearly 12,000 new cases, which is a week-on-week increase of about 1,000 cases. At the same time, there has been no increase in the number of people hospitalised with Covid.

The seven-day incidence rate was 112 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on Thursday. The highest number of infected is in Hradec Králové region, where it stands at 133.
