Covid epidemic gradually slowing

The Czech Republic registered 3,809 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, approximately half the number of cases registered on the same day a week ago, according to data released by the Czech Helath Ministry.

The number of people hospitalized with Covid has also dropped to 6,530.The reproduction number is now at 0.7, the lowest number since January 19. The risk index is at 55 points out of 100.

However the ctk news agency notes that the positive indicators should be judged in the light of the fact that Friday was a public holiday meaning that there were significantly fewer tests conducted.
