Covid: Czechia ninth least-affected country in EU
The Czech Republic is currently the ninth least-affected country by the pandemic in the European Union, with an average of 27 cases per 100,000 inhabitants registered over the past two weeks, according to data released by the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.
Lithuania has the highest infection rate in the EU with 972 coronavirus cases per 100,000 population, followed by Latvia and Estonia.
As for deaths per capita in the last two weeks, the Czech Republic is the sixth least-affected in the bloc, with 4.7 deaths per million inhabitants. Bulgaria had the highest number (168 deaths per million inhabitants), followed by Romania and Lithuania.
