Covid cases, hospitalisations continue decline

Both the daily number of newly detected Covid-19 cases and hospitalisations due to the virus continue to decline.

On Monday, 6,865 people tested positive, the least on a workday since December 14 and down 1,400 from a week ago. Hospitalisations also dropped by 1,400, to 7,624 patients, nearly one-quarter of whom were in serious condition.

Covid-19 is now most widespread in the Česká Lípa district, with 604 newly confirmed cases per 100,000 residents. It is least present in the Cheb region, which has 69 infected per 100,000 inhabitants.
