Covid cases growing, highest incidence in Karlovy Vary

The Czech Republic registered 376 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, which is 207 fewer than on the previous day, but an increase of over 100 as compared to the same day last week. Covid numbers have slowly been climbing in the past ten days with the highest incidence in Karlovy Vary, Prague and South Bohemia. Ninety-six people are currently hospitalized with Covid, of whom 14 are in a serious condition. The reproduction number is currently at 1.43. Health Minister Adam Vojtech said earlier this week that the country is on the brink of a new wave of infections. Although the health minister has ruled out a nation-wide lockdown, he said localized measures might prove inevitable.
