Covid-19: new cases exceeds 10,000 per day for first time since mid-January

On Tuesday 10,165 new coronavirus infections were registered in the country, 1,000 more than on the same day last week. The daily number of new cases last exceeded the 10,000 mark in mid-January.

Meanwhile, the government’s risk index remains at 71 out of 100. Although the proportion of positive test results has risen to 32.4 percent, the reproduction has fallen to 1.02.

Nearly 6,000 Covid-19 patients are being treated in Czech hospitals, with over 1,000 of them in intensive care, according to Ministry of Health data published on Wednesday morning.
