Covid-19 death toll in Czech Republic tops 13,000

Covid-19 has claimed 13,115 lives in the Czech Republic, Ministry of Health data show. Fatalities dropped to 69 on Saturday after averaging more than 150 in the preceding days. Of the 6,741 patients now in hospital, about 16 percent are in serious condition.

Currently, there are 160,546 active cases in the country. On Saturday, 8,406 new cases were registered, 3,400 more than a week ago. Of the 20,894 PCR tests performed, 40% tested positive.
