Covid-19: Czech university teams win European Citizen’s Prizes
Two teams from Czech universities have been awarded the European Citizen’s Prize for their efforts and innovations to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
The Masaryk University Volunteer Centre in Brno, MUNI HELPS, was honoured with a 2021 prize for organising some 3,800 volunteers in to help in various areas since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Researchers from the Czech Institute of Computer Science, Robotics and Cybertechnology at the Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague were awarded a 2020 prize for developing a 3D-printer respiratory mask.
Representatives of the groups received the prizes, which have been awarded by the European Parliament since 2008, in Prague on Monday.
