Covid-19: Antigen tests to remain free for under 18s, adults who cannot get vaccinated

Children under 18 will continue to have preventive antigen tests for Covid-19 covered by health insurance from September, the start of the school year, following an emergency measure approved by the government. Originally, the government had wanted everyone over 12 for whom vaccination is available to pay for the tests.

Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch said antigen testing will also be free for people who cannot get vaccinated for health reasons or have started the process. For others, tests that are intended, for example, ahead of visits to cultural or sporting events, will not be paid by insurance.
