Court rules wearing of face masks in inside spaces is insufficiently justified

The current government measure obliging people to wear respirators in internal spaces is not sufficiently justified, the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) of the Czech Republic ruled on Tuesday. The Ministry of Health has also been “systematically ignoring” the courts decisions until now, according to the verdict.

The ruling will enter into force in three days and it is likely that the Ministry of Health will use this time to react to it and look into providing an official justification for the measure. If this is again deemed insufficient, it would mean that rules such as the obligation for people to wear facemasks inside public transport and metro spaces may become invalid.
