Court allows Diviš to run for president, excludes Rohanová

Karel Diviš may now stand in January’s Czech presidential elections. The Supreme Administrative Court on Tuesday upheld a complaint he made against the Ministry of the Interior after it said he had submitted too few legitimate signatures in his application.

However, the court rejected a similar petition from Karel Janeček.

Meanwhile, judges excluded Denisa Rohanová, who had previously been accepted as a candidate for president; she based her application on the signatures of former legislators.

Nine people will contest the elections, with the first round set to start on January 13.
