Coronavirus: number of new cases drops to 135 on Sunday

Ministry of Health data show 135 people in the Czech Republic tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Sunday. While that number is the lowest of the past week, it is also the highest for a Sunday since June.

The increase in coronavirus cases exceeded 500 on Friday, a daily record. But the rise in reported cases stems from increased testing, not an outbreak or uptick, the Health Ministry says.

Last week most new cases were recorded in and around Kolín, central Bohemia; in Uherské Hradiště, southern Moravia; and in Prague.
