Coronavirus: Hospitalisations down, but reproduction number rises

The number of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 continues to fall and is currently at its lowest since December 27. On Saturday there were 5,271 hospitalised patients, of which 1,220 needed intensive  care, according to Ministry of Health data.

However, the number of new infections rose by 40 compared to last Saturday, up to 2,198. The reproduction number also rose from 0.76 to 0.9.

27,979 vaccines were administered on Saturday.
