Coronavirus epidemic slowing, fears of Indian mutation

The Czech Republic registered 68 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, five more than on the same day last week, according to data released by the Ministry of Health. The reproduction number increased slightly from 0.7 to 0.8. The number of newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants remains below 10 in all regions with the exception of Prague where it is 17 to 100,000. Sixty people are currently hospitalized with Covid, of which 12 are in a serious condition. The slight increase in numbers is attributed to the Indian mutation which has been confirmed in seven regions.
