Coronavirus: Czech cases at record high, Moravia-Silesia hardest hit

The number of Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic is at its highest level since the pandemic began. On Saturday, 113 new cases were recorded, bringing the total to 4,764.

Ministry of Health data show over 100 cases have been recorded daily for five consecutive days. The situation is most critical in Moravia-Silesia, where epidemiologists have reinstated protective measures.

To date, 13,855 people have been infected with Covid-19 in the Czech Republic of whom 8,733 have recovered. The disease has claimed 358 lives.
