Consultancy: number of new Czech companies jumps in April

During the first four months of this year, 10,744 new companies were registered in the Czech Republic, 17 percent more year on year, according to the Dun & Bradstreet consultancy.

Dun & Bradstreet analyst Petra Štěpánová said the interest of entrepreneurs in launching new businesses shows the Czech economy has begun to recover since the coronavirus shutdown.

Last month was especially encouraging, with a record 2,719 companies established. That is a rise of 61 percent in annual terms and 13 percent more than in April 2019, Štěpánová said.
