Companies have to declare actual emissions from imported products under CBAM
As of this month Czech companies will for the first time have to declare actual emissions from imported products in line with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). The regulation adopted by the European Union started to apply to companies last October, when they had to start reporting emissions from imported products on a quarterly basis, but in a simplified way. The so-called carbon tariff (CBAM) aims to equalize the price of carbon emissions between domestic and imported products.
