Committee backs powers for school principals to respond to Covid

The Chamber of Deputies Education Committee has supported a proposal under which school principals could introduce online lessons if many teachers were out due to Covid-19 and would be able to draw on up to 10 discretionary school closure days a year. The draft legislation was put forward by the minister of education, Petr Gazdík.

The Education Committee has recommended that the lower house debate the idea in a fast-track procedure in the coming days.
