Commemorative event at Faculty of Arts held in memory of shooting victims

Exactly one month after the tragic event at the Prague Faculty of Arts, Charles University held an event to honour the memory of the victims at a memorial site outside the building. On this day, the main building where the tragedy occurred was partially opened to students and teachers for creative workshops, meetings and musical performances which are to help them cope with the tragedy. Nevertheless, the return to the building will be gradual,  with many lectures due to take place in other facilities or online in the coming semester.

On December 21, a lone gunman who was a student of the faculty, went on a rampage, killing 14 people and injuring 25 before committing suicide. The motive for the horrendous crime, the worst in the country's history, remains unclear.
