Colours of Ostrava kicks off

The 21st edition of Colours of Ostrava kicks off in the Moravian-Silesian capital on Wednesday. The four-day music festival will feature over 100 artists from more than 30 countries. Some of the big names on this year's programme include Sam Smith, Lenny Kravitz and James Blake.

Originally, American rock band Queens of the Stone Age were also meant to perform, but the group recently cancelled eight European tour dates, including Ostrava, due to an undisclosed medical issue affecting vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme. The band wrote on Instagram that the singer had to return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery.
