Christian Democrats want Petr Hladík appointed minister of the environment
Christian Democratic Party leader Marian Jurečka has said he will ask the prime minister to set in motion the process of appointing Petr Hladík Minister of the Environment. Mr. Hladík was to have been appointed to the post in late October, to replace Anna Hubáčková, who gave up the portfolio for health reasons, but his appointment was thwarted by the fact that he was involved a in corruption investigation centred on the allocation of municipal housing in Brno. Minister Jurečka argued that Mr. Hladík had not been charged in the case and there was no reason to delay his appointment any longer.
