Chinese Embassy urges caution after Lipavský meets Tibetans
A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Prague has called on Czechia to avoid further tensions in relations between the two states and to respect its commitment to the One China policy. The comments followed a meeting between Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský and members of the Tibetan community in India, which he is currently visiting.
For his part the Czech foreign policy chief said Tuesday’s meeting had been nothing out of the ordinary and that there was nothing wrong with it.
Mr. Lipavský said that the Tibetan side appreciated Czech support for human rights and Tibetan autonomy within China.
