Children over 12 can start registering for booster vaccine

Czech Republic has launched registration for a booster shot against Covid-19 for children over the age of 12, whohave been vaccinated at least five months ago. Registrations are for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is possible either online, in the state’s vaccine registration system, or at the family’s local GP.

Although children are usually not at risk of becoming severely ill from Covid, more than 11,000 people under the age of 19 have been hospitalized since the beginning of the epidemic, suggest the Ministry of Health data, and about 1,150 of them have been in intensive care. In the first 20 days of this year alone, more than 640 children were hospitalized with Covid-19.
