Chief Hygienist: Delta mutation particularly common among people returning from high-risk states
Around 25 percent of coronavirus cases detected in the Czech Republic are of the delta variant and are particularly common among people returning from high-risk countries, Chief Hygienist Pavla Svrčinová told Czech Radio’s flagship station Radiožurnál on Friday.
People who are fully vaccinated, or had Covid in the past six months, must newly fill out a form upon returning to the Czech Republic from holidays . Meanwhile, those who do not fulfil the criteria are required to take a coronavirus test before they return to work.
Asked about whether the decision to enact these new measures was also influenced by people not turning up for a second coronavirus vaccine, Ms Svrčinová said this issue is less common in the Czech Republic than in some neighbouring states, with the majority of people turning up for their second dose.
