Charles University elects first ever female rector
Charles University vice-rector Milena Králíčková was elected the new rector of Charles University on Friday. She received 55 votes from the academic senate, from a total of 69 members present. After being confirmed in office by the president, she will become the first woman to head the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. She will replace outgoing rector Tomáš Zima and take up her post in February of next year.
