Charles University is coordinating a project to develop European AI

Charles University will coordinate a European project aimed at developing large-scale OpenEuroLLM language models. The project is designed to compete with models from the USA and China, ensuring European independence. It involves 20 institutions, universities, companies, and research groups from supercomputing centers. “The models should also be more accessible to Czech companies that wish to use them for their applications,” said Jan Hajič from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University.
