Champions Sparta Prague start new league campaign with victory

The Czech football league champions Sparta Prague got their 2023–2024 campaign off with a win on Sunday evening. The country’s most decorated club beat Olomouc 2:0 in the capital to take all three points in their first game of the season.

Earlier the bookies’ favourites for the title Slavia Prague beat Hradec Králové 2:0, but regular contenders Viktoria Plzeň lost 1:0 at Teplice.
