Chamber rejects opposition proposals to increase part of care allowances for disabled

The Chamber of Deputies rejected proposals from the opposition ANO and SPD parties to increase the care allowance for people with disabilities. Labor and Social Affairs Minister Marian Jurečka did not push through a new personal assistance allowance for disabled people in the highest, fourth degree of dependence on the help of others who do not use residential social services. The lower house did not include these changes in the government amendment on social services, which it approved. The draft envisages that allowances, as well as benefits for people with disabilities and their ID cards, will be processed and paid by the Social Administration instead of the Labor Office.
