ČEZ to raise gas prices by 80% from July
ČEZ, whose majority shareholder is the Czech government and is the largest utility company in Central and Eastern Europe, have announced that their natural gas prices will increase by 76 to 86 percent from July, compared to the last price list in early February, the news site Novinky.cz reported on Friday.
In contrast to electricity prices, where there will only be a significant increase for new customers, gas prices will rise for everyone.
However, Jiří Gavor, an analyst at energy consulting company ENA, told the Czech News Agency that although other suppliers will also increase their prices, this should be the tip of the iceberg, and prices should subsequently begin to fall.
