ČEZ plans order of Czechia’s first small modular reactor
The Czech power giant ČEZ plans to select a provider for the country’s first small modular reactor by the end of this year, Czech Television reported. Small modular reactors are a type of small and advanced nuclear fission reactors.
ČEZ aims to have Czechia’s first one at the Temelín power station in South Bohemia by the middle of the 2030s, Czech TV said.
Some of the small modular reactors under consideration have comparable output to the current blocks at Dukovany, the country’s second nuclear plant.
