Canoeist Vojtěch Heger claims first World Cup medal in Tacen

Czech canoeist Vojtěch Heger has won his first World Cup medal in the C1 event, finishing third in Tacen, Slovenia.

Only Olympic champion Nicolas Gestin and fellow Frenchman Yohann Senechault, the top qualifier, placed ahead of him.

The 25-year-old Heger also reached the final twelve of a classic race for the first time this season, and turned it into a breakthrough podium finish.
