Brussels: poor level of innovation in Central Europe

EU membership candidate countries, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovinia, Estonia, Hungary and Cyprus have been criticised by Brussels for failing to pursue effective innovation policies for the development of new products and services. The European Commission said in a report that innovation in these countries was a rather marginal phenomenon which occurred in a limited number of companies.
