Brno Philharmonic to perform in Carnegie Hall
The Brno Philharmonic is set to perform seven concerts in the United States this year, Czech Television reports. The tour will begin in New York’s Carnegie Hall on February 8, where the philharmonic will perform Philip Glass’ Symphony nr. 12 Lodger. Several Czech compositions are also set to be performed by the orchestra alongside the works of contemporary US composers.
It is the first time since 1973 that the Brno Philharmonic will be touring the US, only one of the orchestra’s current members partook in last century’s tour.
Aside from Carnegie Hall, the Philharmonic will also be performing at Ann Arbor, Palm Desert, Santa Barbara, Northridge, Kansas City and Lubbock.
