Brno building tent city for Romany refugees
The Moravian metropolis Brno is building a tent city for the growing number of Romany refugees who are camping out in the vicinity of Brno’s main railway station. Brno mayor, Marketa Vaňková, told journalists that the city is struggling to deal with the problem. She claims that the vast majority of the Roma who come from the Ukrainian-Hungarian border areas come to get one-off financial support and return home again shortly after. Although the majority of them only stay for a few days, new ones take their place.
