Border control reintroduction exercise held on Slovak border

An exercise simulating the return of controls to the Czech-Slovak border is being held on Tuesday. Czech police, soldiers and customs officers are taking part in the manoeuvres.

The police service received a fictitious government order to temporarily reintroduce border checks in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A similar exercise was held on Czechia’s borders with Slovakia and Austria in September last year. One element was the detention of people hired to portray migrants.
