Big budget Jan Žižka gets Prague world premiere

The world premiere of a new Czech-made, English-language film about the historic figure Jan Žižka takes place in Prague on Monday evening. Several of the international stars of the movie Medieval are set to intend the gala screening.

The film features such names as Ben Foster, Michael Caine, Til Schweiger and Sophie Lowe and with a budget of CZK 500 million is reportedly the most expensive Czech picture of all time.

Žižka, born in the mid 14th century, was a follower of Jan Hus and led Hussite forces. His early years are portrayed in Medieval, which is directed by Petr Jákl.

The movie enters Czech cinemas on Thursday.
