Bek: UK, Israel and Western Balkans states to be among attendees of Prague EU meeting

Aside from EU leaders, Czechia also plans to invite representatives of Israel, the United Kingdom and of the western Balkan states to next month’s meeting of European leaders in Prague, Czech Radio reported on Monday, citing the Minister for European Affairs Mikuláš Bek.

Representatives of the Czech government, together with European Council President Charles Michel, are currently finalising the list of attendees. Mr Bek said that all of the states from the EU’s Eastern Partnership, except for Ukraine, will also be present at the meeting.

Prague will be hosting an EU summit on October 7. Members of the wider European Political Community are expected to meet at Prague Castle a day earlier. Mr Bek said that it is expected that this platform of European states, proposed by France’s President Emmanuel Macron in May of this year, will meet regularly in the future.
