Banks report growing number of cyberattacks against clients
Banks report a growing number of cyberattacks on clients, having recorded close to 23,000 of them in the first quarter, which is eleven percent more than at the same time last year, according to data from the Czech Banking Association. Moreover the data only reflect the victims who reported the attack. There are presumed to be many more who either lost nothing or small sums of money. Internet attackers increasingly use deep fakes exploiting the likeness and voices of famous people, including actors, singers and politicians, so as to lure people into investing in seemingly profitable deals.
