Babiš to dissolve Agrofert trust fund ahead of 2025 general elections

ANO leader Andrej Babiš has announced that he intends to dissolve the trust fund he set up for his multi-billion crown empire Agrofert, so as to counter criticism over conflict of interests when he was prime minister.  Mr. Babiš said on Facebook that he wants to resolve his property situation before the 2025 general elections and make arrangements to secure his family. He added that if ANO succeeds in next year's elections and forms a government, he might not have the opportunity to do so. “No legal obstacles prevent me from holding the shares, and it is not in conflict with my position as a member of the Chamber of Deputies,” Babiš wrote, adding that he had no plans to return to his former managerial position at the head of the conglomerate.
