Award for Pavlátová’s My Sunny Maad at Annecy

My Sunny Maad by the Czech director Michaela Pavlátová received the Jury Prize at the Annecy Festival, which is focused on animated films, in France. It was the first time a Czech-made film had been in the main competition at Annecy for nearly 30 years.

The feature-length film is about a Czech woman who falls in love with an Afghan but has no idea what awaits her in a post-Taliban Afghanistan.
