Average Czech pension to rise by CZK 668 in January reaching CZK 21,839
The average old age pension in Czechia will increase by CZK 668 from January, bringing it to CZK 21,839. All old age, disability and survivors’ pensions will rise by CZK 240, with the percentage-based merit component going up by a further 2.6 percent, the labour ministry announced.
According to the draft budget, the ministry will have CZK 722.2 billion for pensions next year, almost CZK 22.5 billion more than this year. In 2026, pension contributions are expected to generate CZK 737.9 billion, which could push the system into a surplus of more than CZK 15 billion after years of deficits. The ministry says the improvement is due to wage growth, a stronger economy and changes in the pension system.
