Austrian anti-nuclear activists recruit famous U.S. lawyer to stop Temelin

The bitter dispute surrounding the Czech Republic's newly completed Temelin nuclear power plant took a new and dramatic turn at the weekend: Austrian anti-nuclear activists - who have fought a determined campaign to prevent Temelin from going on-line - announced they had hired the services of Ed Fagan - one of the most aggressive and successful trial lawyers in modern legal history.

Mr Fagan left for Austria on Saturday, vowing to prevent Temelin from going into full commercial operation. Before he left he told reporters his first step would be to ask the U.S. company Westinghouse - which supplied Temelin's safety and operational equipment - to submit all documents for scrutiny.
