Arson suspected in apartment building fire in Bohumín
Police believe an arsonist may be responsible for the fire in an apartment building in the North Moravian town of Bohumín on Saturday, which killed 11 people and left 13 injured.
The fire broke out in an apartment on the 11th-floor of a 13-story building, killing three adults and three children. Another five people jumped out from the 12th floor and died.
According to the deputy mayor of Bohumín, a family feud is likely to have been the cause of the fire. One person has been already been detained in connection with the incident.
According to the regional fire squad leader Vladimir Vlček, the fire spread unusually quickly, destroying an entire floor of the high-rise building.
