Around 14,000 Ukrainian refugees thus far registered by Czech police

By Monday, exactly 13,977 refugees from Ukraine had registered themselves with the Czech foreign police, police spokeswoman Renata Grecmanová told the Czech News Agency on Wednesday. Most of the registrations are happening in Prague and the Central Bohemian region.

While in the first days of the Russian invasion only hundreds of Ukrainians were registering, on Sunday that number had risen to 5,000 people. On Monday, this number rose further to 6,769 refugees registering in a single day.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala said that around 20,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Czechia since the war started. It is expected that that number will continue to rise.
