Are Czech police lenient on drug users?
Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, the Czech drug scene has undergone massive changes, both in the extent and type of drugs available. With open borders and a free market economy, the use of drugs has dramatically increased, and poses fresh problems for the Czech police. On Friday, the German Press Agency claimed that Prague has become the "Amsterdam of the East", adding that cannabis and marijuana are smoked in the open without any interference from the police.
